Parterre Garden
The Parterre Garden, located adjacent to the Grand Hall, was designed by well-known Arkansas landscape designer, TV host and lifestyle expert, P. Allen Smith. The word “parterre” is used to describe a garden where the beds and paths form a formal garden.
This garden is used for an outdoor gathering area, making it a perfect photogenic setting for events features a round fountain with surrounding pathways arranged in a diamond pattern, symbolizing that Arkansas is the only diamond-producing state in North America.
Framing the formal Parterre Garden are twin pergolas covered with New Dawn roses for springtime color. The garden is enclosed by needlepoint holly hedge. The south corridor hosts magnolias, azaleas, hydrangeas and camellias. Adjacent to this garden are grassy lawns that can be used for garden entertaining.
