Mansion History Book
The history of the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion is brought to life in a book authored by Arkansas historian John Gill. The coffee table-style book is titled “Open House: The Arkansas Governor’s Mansion and It’s Place In History”. It is full of pictures and personal stories beginning with Governor Sydney McMath, the first Governor to live in the Mansion, to present Governor Mike Beebe and their families. The book is a delightful read, with wonderful insight into how the Mansion began and how it evolved into a most impressive Arkansas landmark.
